Find my aquifer
Enter your address. We'll tell you which US aquifer system you sit over and what that geology means for your well water.
How it works
Your address is geocoded by the US Census Bureau (free, no API key) and matched against the USGS Principal Aquifers map. We tell you which named regional aquifer system underlies your address — and link to the relevant water-quality and depletion concerns for that geology.
What we don't do
We don't tell you which specific aquifer layer your well taps (a deep well in eastern Colorado may draw from the deep Denver Basin while the surface aquifer is something else entirely). We don't tell you about local fractured-rock or surficial aquifers that aren't on the USGS Principal Aquifers map. And we don't store your address — the lookup is a one-shot query.
Privacy
Your address is sent to the US Census Bureau's geocoding API for the lookup. It is not logged on our side, not stored, and not shared with any third party.
